Guidance on Accreditation & CPD/CME
What we can do for you
To provide CPD accreditation/recommendation for appropriate courses/workshops/meetings relevant to emergency medicine/emergency care systems.
Aim to support development of CME programmes that meet internationally acceptable standards and are able to be recognised across African countries as well as internationally.
How this service can help you
AFEM can also provide forum for helping agree reciprocal recognition of CME programmes before they are started as well as assist with resolving any disagreements that may arise.
Ensuring reciprocity of CME programmes from onset will permit Emergency Medicine/ Emergency Care practitioners trained in Africa to have measure of validation if they move overseas, and also will ensure demonstrable validity of qualifications offered by foreign nationals who wish to practice or train others in Africa.
With a set of agreed reciprocal qualifications, African health professionals can also add to the pool of trainers internationally to promote emergency medicine and emergency care to others around the world.
